Actually, the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) presents a powerful and a useful technology for remote sensing, ocean surface monitoring and oceanography. Many experiences have been held to show the efficiency of the Global Positioning System (GPS) in applications such as ocean surface altimetry, wave height, surface current measurements, and current direction estimation. Considering the GPS link as a passive sensor for ocean monitoring, we study in this paper the possibility of tracking the GPS signal reflection footprints on sea surface to improve the acquisition and the extraction of this signal. As an analogy with the classical problem of moving targets Radar tracking, we develop a tracking algorithm based on Kalman filtering. %G English %L hal-00540877 %U https://hal.science/hal-00540877 %~ UNIV-BREST %~ INSTITUT-TELECOM %~ ENSTA-BRETAGNE %~ CNRS %~ UNIV-UBS %~ ENSTA-BRETAGNE-STIC %~ TELECOM-BRETAGNE %~ ENSIETA-E3I2 %~ ENIB %~ LAB-STICC_ENIB %~ LAB-STICC %~ LAB-STICC_TB %~ LAB-STICC_IMTA_CID_TOMS %~ IMTA_ITI %~ LAB-STICC_IMTA %~ IMT-ATLANTIQUE %~ PRACOM %~ INSTITUTS-TELECOM
